I am very busy with little time to study and do my tutorials unless I stay up late (no later than 11pm), but even that is depriving me of my sleep, that's why I usually sleep no later than 11pm. Only two more weeks until SYF, then I can finally catch up on sleep.
If I didn't put any anime music during this period, please don't find it strange--I suddenly became interested in piano music after seeing these CDs entitled "Piano Spa 2" and "Piano Spa 3 Bliss" by Chester Tan. I didn't buy the CDs, but the titles sound nice. 'Dreams of Tomorrow' and 'Aurora' are two of the titles in the former. If only I can play after listening, but it'll take me several rounds of listening to get it. -_- Better than nothing, haha.
I must study 'Kinematics' and 'Forces and Dynamics'. Bye.

back from camp
Band camp was tiring, especially yesterday because we spent half the day in practice, until night time where we went to SCH for the rehearsal. First night wasn't scary--we only played halfway because residents complain blah blah, police called in...TEN residents, gosh.
Give me my sleep. There's Maths lecture test tomorrow, mangaka workshop (I'm not the only one anymore! ^^), sectionals. I am selected to play for SYF, but although I say I feel 'guilty', in actual fact, I am completely neutral about it. This nonchalance scares me at times...I smsed Wei Rui, and she said I should just work hard in this less than one month period to SYF to prove myself. Come on, if not for my music background, I doubt I would be playing for SYF...or in retrospect, if my sight-reading isn't good, I'll be kicked out of syf...
Ahband is the best. I love Mr and Mrs Chua. So do the Hai Sing and Ngee Ann band members (J1s) in mjband. We love our conductors, because they rock!
Choir and guitar got gwh, so I've heard. So? I do not harbour enmity, but it so happens that choir and band have trouble getting along because of some choralists' attitude towards band. Ahband is neutral, we are innocent. If they gloat at MY band just because they receieved that gwh and we didn't, let me just say this--can you maintain the same standard in the next syf?
Band and choir are different. We play instruments, they sing. Learning a new instrument is so much harder and requires more practice than singing. Yeah, not everyone can sing. Even more so that lesser people know how to play an instrument well. Piano is common, I see many grade eighters everywhere, but diplomas? Degrees? And how many people know how to play several instruments? You can say "So what? I know how to play the piano too.", but can you say "I also know how to play the clarinet/ flute/ trumpet/ horn/ tuba etc?"
I know piano, recorder, harmonica, tuba, some guitar (chords and scales only), xylophone, chimes. Teach me, and I will learn.
Gotta study for tomorrow's test.

a supremely short post
So far, I'm the only one joining the mangaka (manga artist) workshop. Huh, everyone has no interest in drawing manga? Well, not that I aspire to be a mangaka, but I just want to know how to draw better manga and perhaps be a better critic? =) And it helps me in my PI as well, since the groundbreaker I'm researching on is none other than Tezuka Osamu, which you haven't heard of before (unless you do your research). Well, he created Astro Boy...
TIME MANAGEMENT!!!!! A busy week ahead.
TIME MANAGEMENT!!!!! A busy week ahead.
time management
Next week is a busy week, so I guess it's time for me to go full gear. Tests, homework, and there's band camp coming tomorrow. Wow, time management is a MUST...-_-"'
It so happens that two of my classmates are sitting BESIDE me and looking at me post this...I am in school, so haha...-_- Band camp only means no Naruto and Bleach to watch, and I guess I better try to finish most of my homework first before the camp...although I'm most probably bringing my homework there. lol
Hmm...I really have nothing to write, since I must try to do my GP now. Ja ne.

infuriated
I am INFURIATED to learn that people actually have the nerve to laugh at ahband for getting the silver. They who have absolutely no clue how to produce even a decent sound on a band instrument DARE to laugh at the band, who had practiced long hours for months to prepare for syf. If I were there, I would have wrung their necks and hung them on the flagpoles for as long as the syf days. Send them to go for SYF--I can say they will be lucky even to get a COP...
It's nobody's fault. I don't blame the band at all. If you really have done your best, don't apologize to us alumni. We know, because we were formerly from ahband too. We also share the same band spirit during our secondary school years, where the spirit once flowed within us. So what if you get a silver? Just work hard and get a better result in the next SYF. Each syf has different judges, remember that.
Reading Weixian and Joel's blogs make me want to pop by next week and talk to them. Look what Weixian said:
had a talk with mr and mrs chua aft hai sing played and yes... wad they say really touched us... (us being sockling, shuhan, cam, wenyi, joel, aloy and me) mrs chua said aft she heard that we got silver that day... she immediately took off her blazer and went to conduct crescent girls later on without the blazer... she was very angry and feel that we were unjustified... and today, she just wore a skirt and a sleeveless shirt to conduct ngee ann and hai sing saying that we deserved the gold medal and she was very angry and did not respect the system at all thus she just wore a skirt and a sleeveless shirt... so damn touching la... we love you mr and mrs chua... yea and when we said that hai sing played really well and will get a gold, mrs chua said "but you all played very well also what." i really have nothing to say... i m very happy to have her ever conducted me even once in my band life... and mr chua keep telling ask to "don't worry"... i m so looking foward to band prac tml and see mr and mrs chua... haha... you guys r the best!
Emotional scars may heal but slowly, that I know. I'm too strong to let setbacks affect me, but that's because I have suffered before. Don't think because I look cheerful and somewhat blur, I have no worries. How many people know I'm an introvert? I never do show my inner emotions do I? But I can assure you, all my negative emotions are usually drained away, leaving a emotionless face. If I ever get angry...danger, danger, please evacuate.
Just listening to Hayao Miyazaki's music from imeem. Really soothing, especially when some are also found in Animation Medley. I so happen to love Animation Medley. Music to help me study for next week's chem and geog tests.
Then I listened to the band play 'Safari'. The beginning was a little unclear, especially the saxophone running notes, but other parts were fine. Damn it, they deserve more than a silver!

SYF'07
I heard that ahband received silver. 5 dropped to silver: ahs, vs, catholic, temasek and orchid park. Really, it must have been devastating to them, because everyone has worked so hard, full of confidence that band no. 33 will get gold with honours. When QiQin smsed me the results, my expression totally blanked. For three whole periods, I felt drained of emotions, like a walking robot. This is how I tend to react--not sad, not angry, not irritated, not frustrated, not melancholic, and certainly not happy. Just void of emotions.
Really, was reading jiaxin's blog, and the number of people crying, I really wonder whether I am a human or a robot. I didn't cry, and I won't cry. Perhaps I have watched too much anime, and it has influenced me to take control over failures and successes in life...wakaranai...
I'm the first to tag at some of my juniors' blogs. This senior can be a pillar anytime, since she doesn't get emotional so easily. Don't despair, we learn from our mistakes, you have done your best, blah blah blah...I think I'm sick of hearing people say this, so I shall say something new.
ahband, let today be an experience. Three days later is 13 April, where we first received the prestigious Gold with Honours through hard work in syf'05. Pass this down to all future generations--10 april and 13 april, the syf dates. Tell them what happened, don't make the same mistakes twice, and RELAX!!!!!!!! Damn it, tension and fear can kill. See where it landed me? A B3 for music. Because I didn't have the confidence to play.
Hard work. I can relate it from personal experience--my higher chinese. I scored B3 for chinese, and nearly gave up higher chinese. But I persevered. Mdm Sunli put in a lot of effort; I put in more. (she and her sarcasm...) I scored a C6 for prelims. You know how I felt? Nothing; but then, even my mum gave up on me. Then my 'O's. An A1. I really cried. Not openly, just a welling of unshed tears. But it was really a miracle.
Daijobu da yo. ahband no tamashii wa tsuyoi, hontou ni tsuyoi. Life is like a boat. We'll make the next time. Let this not be a lesson but an experience. If we all say it with confidence, that we have done our best, we have no regrets, we shouldn't be feeling so moody now. Ahband's spirit is strong, and keep it strong.
Urgh, I'm not good with words...

Ahband
My sincere apologies to ahband for being unable to watch you all perform tomorrow. Because my mum doesn't see the need why I need to sacrifice my lessons to watch the band play where I can ask my juniors to tell me the results. It's different, because the atmosphere simply isn't there. Oh well, I'm asking Qiqin and Phyllis to tell me the results tomorrow. Hopefully I'm not having lessons, because I want to listen to the announcement of results (though it'll be funny to hear that played during tutorials and the ecstasy that comes...ROFL. Better still if it's during lecture, haha...*grin*).
All the best to AHBAND for tomorrow's SYF. Gambatte kudasai, minna-san. Banzai, banzai, banzai! Jia you! I want to hear your euphoric cheers and later the bandship dance; I want you to give Steph the best early birthday present ever!!! I want you to leave the school with the impression that you have played a part in making history repeat itself, to show that we aren't to be looked down upon!

Shakugan no Shana
Bleach 121 isn't uploaded yet, so I'm starting on Shakugan no Shana. It's a pretty interesting anime adapted from light novels, and the characters are rather cute. Heh.
I was printing Trigonometry notes, 18 pages in all. Something funny about my printer is, I printed odd and even pages separately, and the colours were different. Odd pages have black ink, even pages have blue-black ink. Lol. Very colourful indeed.
I like Trigonometry. Well, gotta read my novel now. I recommend Dean Koontz if you are a horror novel fan like me--his books are the best. =)

mata ashita
If I'm a little crazy, don't mind me--I've changed my playlist to that of Ouran High School Host Club. Because, my favourite song is Mata Ashita! 「また明日!」Meaning, see you tomorrow.
It's in the playlist. Why I like this song is because it involves the whole main cast of the anime (now, how many anime has songs involving all the main characters singing together?), and it's a fun song!
Gotta go and research on my GP. Mata ashita.

maybe
Maybe I should try to restrain myself from babbling too much about anime on my blog, because sometimes it leaves me with nothing else to say, not with so many crackpots and nincompoops to curse and rant about. Example, Deidara defeating Gaara in Naruto Shippuuden 6-7. Although I already know the ending of the Rescue Gaara arc, I'm still cursing him and his work of art. And the next episodes (another one-hour special, 8-9) are on April 12. Huh, that's two Naruto-less weeks, considering that 6-7 was aired on March 22.
Firstly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY RECHELLE!!!!! And happy April's Fool to all. =D In case many of you don't know me that well, beneath that serious face lies a person who enjoys good pranks. Oh, the naughty ideas are humorous! Surprising, isn't it? But it doesn't pay to get your butt whipped by the scores of angry victims, so might as well sit back and enjoy the show. I wonder which is funnier, jokes played on people or the joker getting the worst punishment in his life. =)
I shall study my Thermal Physics now. A test on Measurement and Thermal Physics is coming on Thursday. And perhaps restrict the music to 'Baby It's You' and 'Sakura Biyori' plus all my other favourite songs. When I have the time to tick off my list and search for the songs to compile as a playlist.
I'm in band again! ><
