Mnozil Brass

My colleague introduced Mnozil Brass, a brass ensemble from Austria, and let's just say I haven't been laughing so hard in my life. To the point that I wouldn't mind attending one of their concerts.



My favourite of them all. Because of Thriller.

I like this also because Zoltan is a really fantastic trombinist. He looks better with short hair in my opinion. I think Roman is handsome though, hahaha. Might be his hair.

^ I seriously don't get humans. When I was young, I learnt that if you like to tease people, be prepared to be teased by people as well. If you like to laugh at people's misfortune, be prepared to be laughed at as well. If you are rude and self-imposing and just harsh on people, be prepared to face the same attitude from others. Because humans have pride. You don't like it when others laugh at you or call you names, why then are you doing the same to others?

No, I didn't get that from my parents. I learnt that from the books I read, from self-realisation. I grew up reading books, reading about morals, reading about the different shades of grey. Let's just say, I am an obstinate spitfire, but I also know self-control and self-discipline just so that people will leave me alone. Hence I was like a good student but yet not one at the same time because I get into trouble for things I didn't do.

Also, I prefer to get things done and over with, why the heck are we still on this chapter and not moving anywhere?!

The darkness within

There is a darkness within me. I don't deny it. Everyone has one. Sometimes it claws at me, wanting to be released, to overwhelm,  to just go berserk. I know I'm not a simple person. I'm not that easy to read, unless it comes to the point of simply surfacing and covering my aura. Contrary to belief, I hide my emotions. If I really want a poker face I'll give it to you.

I don't think I can hold it back any longer. So many times I say I want to do it, yet I held back. I keep holding back.

I......don't want this anymore.

I'm not stupid enough to consider suicide. I've always been tougher than that. But I'm not adverse to getting into a car accident just to test how far I can cling onto life. To see if I can will myself back to life. I probably will not fully recover. Maybe that's what I want.

I'm strong. I'm a stubborn prick. I'm an asshole, a sadistic bastard.

This week's episode of Gaim. I WANT TO SLAP MICCHI SO BAD. MAI LEMME HAVE A GO AT HIM. I'LL BEAT HIM INTO A BLOODY PULP IF IT GETS HIM TO REALISE WHAT HE'S DOING IS WRONG. Next week's preview - even Kaito is not amused that Micchi shot Kouta mid-henshin.

Episode 27 has so much to look forward to. First Ryouma/Takatora past, then Takatora/Kouta tag team, then Kaito whopping Micchi's ass because he's pissed that the jealous possessive yandere hurt his self-proclaimed husbando...I'm going off the wrong track.

Where is my Kouta-harem fic? If I have inspiration and a plot I would write one myself. Sadly, now, no.

The shinigami strikes again

I knew it.

4th time cannot be a coincidence.

Much as I want to dispute this as pure speculation, that no one can predict this, it has happened. Again.

I just need one time, just one time to prove that this is unpredictable.

I don't need the title to become real. It was merely a joke among friends, something they came up with. Pure fun.

Well it's not like I'm depressed. Or sad. It's a numb feeling. Something that you believe or not. It doesn't matter. Life goes on. I don't get bogged down by things that I cannot control. No point. I can rant and rave for all I like, to get it off my chest, but in the end, I pick myself up and move on.

My friends know better than to believe such shit anyway. They are practical people despite their insanity.

FYI, what I refer to is, if someone I know passes away, or a friend's relative passes away, chances are there will be a second one coming within the year.

2005: The first funeral I attended was my maternal grandpa's, 4 days before National Day. Within the year, my paternal second uncle left this world, 3 days before Christmas.

2009: My maternal 3rd aunt (3rd uncle's wife) passed away in January. My paternal first uncle left this world about a month later.

2012: My neighbour, a jovial Taiwanese lady, left this world. Then WY's father passed away while we were in Japan in May.

2013: I attended CM and Mabechii's grandpas' funerals within the same year.

Mervyn's grandpa passed away before Chinese New Year. Only recently, I visited Keitty's grandma's wake. Just today, Lizzy's grandpa passed away in hospital. I believe friends and I are arranging a time and day to attend the wake.

How many different ways can one describe a funeral???

And so I started watching Hozuki no Reitetsu. I'm sorry I took so long, but this show is just utterly hilarious. And YUCCHI. HAKUTAKU IS THE CHINESE FAILED VERSION OF URATAROS. LIKE, A LAU-URATAROS CROSSOVER WITH LOUSY NANPA SKILLS. LOOKS LIKE GIN TOO.

I understand why there is the Hozuki/Hakutaku pairing now. Though it feels like Hozuki's the serious, possessive boyfriend and Hakutaku's the failed womanizing flirt. I totally wasn't thinking of Spock and Kirk nope. Oh this is gold.

We were discussing Kamiaso and the possible increase in cosplays, and I'm like "Who cares?" We were the first team to appear. And we will have a nice shoot. I don't know the rest, I don't particularly care, unless they butcher my favourite characters, then there will be hell to pay.

Anyway, I really like these Hades cosplays: one, two (yes, from the same cosplayer) I hope to achieve something as lovely. I see good cosplays as inspiration rather than despair, even if I may mockingly start drawing circles on the ground or grow mushrooms in a dark corner.

And omg Zixell-san. LOOK AT THIS. I remember her because of her really awesome Amnesia team, plus her Ikki was really good.

I have a fucking insane team in a zombie apocalypse. The crazy doctor who will find out the cause and then gets us out of the place in the Tardis, the logical Vulcan with 3 times the strength of humans (and possibly more than 10 times that of mine). Unfortunately I don't know who Sarah Silverman is.

Syf 2014 brass band

The band I've been rooting for this SYF got a Gold! Finally!!! Congratulations my dear kids ^^ Yeah I passed my luck to them. Sometimes I have the luck for others but not for myself.

That sucks.

But it's not the point. Here, I imparted what I learnt during my days as a band member to them. "The band is as strong as the weakest player." I told them this. "You must sound as one, not as many." I said, to explain good tone. "Lower brass has to be strong, especially the tuba." I snapped, because I was formerly a tubist.

During my first few practices when I first taught them. Because that was what I learnt in AHBand. I like to give examples to illustrate my point that such occurrences happen everywhere. It helps to relate. You may not feel the same, but you cannot deny it does make sense.

Haha.

So, my job is done. I helped them bring a Gold back. I kept my promise, in a way. It's a collaborative effort.

Kiniro no Corda 3!!! I er, support Seisou because that's where my hatsukoi came from. I wish there are crossovers from the first 2 Kiniro series, like the senpai making a guest appearance in a concert. Idk.

Shit. I probably need to dig out my La Corda music already. Especially the OSTs. I miss this show. It was my first time listening to Kishow's majestic voice anyway.

If I were an idol

When I read and watch interviews by the cast from certain shows, it makes me wonder. Imagine, you and your friends are also artists. You have acted in the same movies, series etc. Some show shot you to fame. You are guests in talk shows, you have hosted your own talk shows and radio programs. You have graced the covers of magazines. You have modeled. You have photobooks and photosets (because, Japan knows how to market). You have interviews. You have been filmed and shown in bloopers and behind-the-scenes.

And then we come to the fans. You are liked and disliked. There are fanart and fanfiction of all sorts about you, on screen and off screen characterization. Fans will ship you with another person, or more. You might be paired with more than one person, though perhaps to a lesser extend than the character you played.

If I were an idol, what will I be? Naturally, a musician. A singer, songwriter, pianist, conductor, composer. I would have held concerts, performed at opening events, auditioned for and participated in musicals, signed autographs. I would personally transcribe and arrange my music on actual sheet music. Maybe even autograph the copies at a signing event or something. My secondary role as an actor (Asian idols can be both actors and singers.) leaves things to be considered though. I'll play those cold-blooded, or cool, serious and calm characters very well. But anything else and I'll fumble.

Imagine this. What an AU it'll be.
