Pfft. In my honest opinion, I too would rank Elly's first and Kenjirou's second. Namely because of the presentation. Also I'd take the bear more than flowers, haha. And that bear Elly had was really cute haha. The surprise was pleasant too.

I think Gun-chan wants a more private date, but he's really bad at presentation, hence his ranking. Naoto's gesture is cute but again, your presentation. He sounded like the kind who would just say "Are you free on Christmas Eve? Let's go DisneySea." (I know for sure I'll check my schedule and immediately agree.) And Naoki...I really appreciate his kind, thoughtful and wordless gestures. I'm certain conversations with him will also be deep, just the way I like it. ^^

I believe it's just me, but now that I have been exposed to how couples behave in Japan (and listening my friend's observations), I sincerely think that my expectations are definitely higher. Not in terms of looks, but in terms of conversation. Please, let us not bore each other to death with meaningless conversations. I prefer to enlighten myself and keep an open mind.

I mean, I now understand that Christmas Eve in Japan is for couples, and I certainly am not complaining about NaoNao, but really, am I the only one who thinks that way???

Everyone's harping on the "Yeah two guys went to Disney Sea together on Christmas Eve is there a problem?" while I interpret it as "The discrepancy here is that Tigger is big and Sully is too small."

Unless Naoto is playing with fans. Yes, I can see it that way too =.=

I knew Naoki invited Gun-chan to audition for 3JSB as a performer, going so far as to tell him he'd take responsibility for Gun-chan. Because Gun-chan was already offered a very good job before he graduated. But Naoki encouraged him to audition for 3JSB, so Gun-chan rejected the job offer to be an entertainer. Not an easy decision, really.

The early days when they first debut were uncertain, they never knew whether they'd make it big. That's why, when I read what Naoki said back then, I had never been so happy for 3JSB's current success. 5 years to achieve what they have today. You're my source of inspiration, guys.

Gun-chan's success is all because of his own hard work, and because of Naoki. His birthday message to him on Instagram? Benefactor. Damn, Gun-chan, someone who knows how to be grateful, is a good person indeed. ^^

I swear Naoki will continue to be my number one soft spot.

Our fanboard is done! Well, except for the messages. But yes, I'm quite proud of it - I contributed at least 60% to the making, mind you. (I got quite prissy about the contribution, but I had to keep reminding myself my materials were rotting away in my cupboards, so this was a good chance to use them.)

Yes I did that NaoNao combi on purpose. It fit. Coincidentally. I also tried to do a Yokosuka combi. Keiji's was a reference to his movie. Vocalists were put together. The main Exile performers were also put together. Hiro was the power button. The newest Exile members made up the icons.

We planned it.

It worked.

Hope they manage to see it.

Idol/Artist musings

I can't emphasize just how much I respect Hiro for not having the no-dating rule in LDH. Especially in the idol industry (both Japanese and Korean) where male and female idols are not allowed to date or get married lest they destroy the "pure image" that fulfills their fans' fantasies.

At the same time, because of their idols, somehow I think their standards and requirements of a partner can be really ridiculous?

Once again, thank you LDH for NOT having the no-dating rule for your talents. They are free to date whoever they like. It's their personal lives after all. It has been EXPLICITLY stated several times that LDH does not interfere in their personal lives outside work. (I believe they don't encourage relationships among colleagues for fear of relationships interfering with work. Otherwise you'll see some Exile Tribe members frolicking with E-Girls already. By the way, E-Girls are like their sisters.)

Hiro himself got married, and Matsu is engaged. I'm in the "whoever snags them are lucky and you better treasure them as much as they treasure you" camp because I know some of the members want to settle down and start a family.

Go for it, I'll continue to support you. Ignore the crazy fanatics. (Sadly, 3JSB does have more crazy fans compared to the other groups. Behave yourselves, you nincompoops.)

I'll never refer them as idols. They aren't. They're professional artists. They don't rely on mere looks. They're talented and they work hard to improve themselves. Go LDH!

Omg, Avex is releasing all Sandaime J Soul Brothers' old, full version MVs.

I'm crying.

Figuratively speaking.

But, watching their ballads in 1080p is glorious. My very first 3JSB MV was Hanabi, when it was just released. My first song, however, was Let's Party, where it was used in Sengoku Basara drama. That was my first exposure to 3JSB.

Let's just say, from then on, I've had a very good impression of them. I even watched Spark, Best Friend's Girl, Fighters and some Hanabi lives. I'm in 3JSB fandom the longest, pretty much, but of course, it is only last year where I started watching all their variety shows and MVs and moved onto other LDH groups like Generations from Exile Tribe, Nidaime J Soul Brothers, Exile, and E-Girls.

Besides, I was a poor university student in 2012. I certainly would not have the money to buy their albums and DVDs back then. So now I'm collecting them when I go in December.

I feel bloody old, but hey, I have heard of them when I was younger. It's no surprise haha.

Detail Dream involving Gun-chan.

Finally, I had a dream involving Gun-chan. However, the dream was an adventure, told from a first person POV.

My friends and I met him at the Narita airport metro line, then after a friendly greeting we started talking (because we recognised him). He was kind enough to offer to bring us around. I mentioned that I had been to Nagoya before, it was lovely place, then he was happy about it and all. We even exchanged numbers so that we could keep in contact while we were in Japan.

Then the dream... took a downturn. Suddenly we found ourselves in an amusement park with nice structures, very Universal Studios-esque, but the atmosphere was rather sinister. Gun-chan's hairstyle had changed to blonde, similar to his banchou persona in High & Low, cold and merciless-looking and all. For some reason I had pissed him off because he scolded me and walked away ("This is no place for you."), my friends had disappeared, and I was all alone.

So I explored the place, not finding anything much despite the gloom (grey skies, barely any breeze or bustling life, sort of like an abandoned amusement park), until it was time to go back. I boarded the train which looked like the greyer, darker version of the Disneyland monorail. There were several people on the train, mostly students in uniforms (navy blazer). Right before my eyes, the train station names changed from Shinjuku, Harajuku etc to names like Ghost Town, City of Corpses, Zombie Land etc. All in kanji. Somehow I had the instinct to stay on board until the train reached a station named Ikebukuro.

I walked out of Ikebukuro station, and found myself in front of a shophouse whose interior was similar to the older HDBs, but the constructed exterior was pretty much from a Ghibli film, Western and old. It has a narrow wooden staircase, a missing flight of stairs leading from 3rd floor to 4th floor where you are expected to continue climbing up. By some miracle, I went up, and found myself meeting my juniors from band in the one and only room on the seventh floor. They were having band practice. For some reason, the place was open to visitors so I saw Kits and Tessie and Mini (please don't ask. I don't even know them except Kits) emerging from a room inside this supposed bandroom. And then Mandy, JanJan and my friends (who disappeared earlier) materialised from another room but they didn't see Kits and gang. As if there was an invisible force field preventing the two groups from seeing each other.

I interacted with my juniors for all of 15 mins, noting how well the band sounded, how they had grown. Then we exited the bandroom. I told Mandy that Kits and Tessie were also around, please look from from the corner of your eyes, and suggested giving them a nasty scare. which she did while I scaled down the stairs and outside the building.

I saw blonde Gun-chan again, this time with several shadowed, hooded figures that could only be 3JSB (because I like 3JSB more than Exile). How not to mistake Naoki and Naoto?

And the dream ended.

So I was randomly surfing the web after reading one article about Japan wanting to abolish humanities and the arts in universities because they want to focus on degrees that address society (aka Engineering, Sciences and the likes). Seriously, it's bullshit, thank you Todai and Keio etc for not adhering to that stupid law. How can you disregard the arts and humanities? =.=

Then I remembered Gun-chan is a Keio alumnus. Well. Look. His name is on the wiki. I also remembered Naoki was a university student (WHY DIDN'T YOU GRADUATE. YOU'RE CERTAINLY SMART ENOUGH). Lo and behold, he was from Hosei University.

I have a soft spot for artists who are university graduates. Sort of. Except Kenchi XD

I have mixed feelings for this song.

Good: I love the song. Such a different feel compared to other E-Girls' singles. I like a wider range of song styles which can further help the vocalists and performers explore and expand their talents. I prefer the MJ-esque parts by Mio, Kaede and Anna. I mean, Sayaka and Yurino are perfect on their own, they'll steal the limelight if they are put in the MJ-esque costumes.

Bad: I would prefer Erie, Aya, Kyoka and/or Ruri to take Ami and Karen's parts. Shizuka and Reina are versatile enough so I'm fine with them, but I would expect this song to have a lower pitch which I believe anyone with a lower pitch could sing better. Also I wish Manami, Kyoka and Miyuu were dancing the MJ-esque parts - they'll be perfect.

It's the first time I came across the term A-line and B-line, but wow is that why I keep seeing the same people again and again, according to what sells. Here's hoping the rest of the girls not featured in the video will get to shine during the next E-Girls' concert.

Also, here's hoping for LDH to send their artists on a world tour. Gene had one, and I'm hoping for 3JSB to have one. Exile no longer has the chance because the shodai members are retiring, which is pretty sad. I mean, I really like Exile with the shodai members inside. But it's also unlikely coz there are so many members. Imagine covering the costs of plane tickets and hotels. Without sponsors, it'll be hard to get them on a world tour. So our safest bet is Gene and 3JSB.

In the meantime, I shall ogle the Amazing Exile World Tour goods.

I swear I was joking about the 3JSB Pocky game and Omi feeding Gun-chan and Naoki pocky. I didn't expect it to happen in the CM. It's not funny. Rargh.







LET ME SHARE THE LOVE WITH YOU

The new dance move to overthrow Running Man? I prefer the Running Man, but the dance moves are so easy even I can do it seated. The song, on the otherhand, is an earworm. Very catchy, so catchy that I woke up with the full CM playing in my head.

I pride myself on being a logical person. And of course everyone's different, our tastes are different, there's no need to engage in virtual fist fights when you're all in the same fandom.

I'm sure Hiro won't want that.

After discussions on Exile Tribe with my friends, I came to a conclusion - after picking out my top favourite, I really cannot rank anyone else after. Because I like them differently. My top favourite is Gun-chan based on these factors - he's introverted, he's cool, he's quiet, he's serious, he's cute, he's easy-going, and I believe I can get along with him as friends.

If you think I like him because he's really good-looking, well, you aren't wrong. He's annoyingly perfect and photogenic and looks even better in real life. But among Exile Tribe, if you ask me whose features I like, I'll pick Tetsuya. I like sharp features, lean and toned bodies, like a 2D ikemen. Tecchan fits the bill.

Speaking of Exile, I have to agree with my friend - we like Sandaime J Soul Brothers, Nidaime J Soul Brothers, even Gene better than the current Exile. 2JSB put in so much effort last time before they joined Exile. I prefer Naoto and Naoki in 3JSB than in Exile. Maybe we joined the fandom late, but we have past videos to watch. You can see the difference. Back when Exile actively promoted their new singles. Now, we hardly see them, because they're busy.

She says Akira and the youngins are trying. Shokichi is trying. Additionally, I think Naoki's also trying his best. Because it's Naoki. He makes the most effort, even back then. He tried to connect with the main Exile when 2JSB first merged into Exile. He and Naoto worked hard to bring 3JSB to where they are today. He's a pillar of support.

The Exile Tribe pyramid has been my motivation since last year. Fandoms keep me afloat, but this particular fandom has been making sure I'm guided back to shore. I may be bruised and battered, but I'm alive. I hope never to lose this bright spark in my life, because surely I can say, Exile Tribe pyramid is a life-changing fandom. I'm glad to be part of it, and I hope it continues for years to come.

Yes, well, I like Gun-chan, Naoto and Naoki, so I'll keep my eyes on them as much as possible. But at a live concert, I won't be that biased. I always look at the whole performance, so rest assured my eyes will be glued to the stage, staring at every single one of them. Because I don't want to miss out. It's sad that you paid so much only to focus on one person or two, when the whole act is just that wonderful. I mean, that's the appeal of group performances isn't it? The whole group, each with his individual style, makes it awesome.

Back to topic, I'm super curious. A live concert. Really. I'll read the manga if the art isn't too bad, decent enough to show how attractive they all are (which makes me wonder how Naoto and Naoki will look like in manga form. Things that used to annoy me don't strike that same pang of hurt in me anymore.

It's because, I've learnt to not be bothered by them. Also, when one has several alternatives to deal with such things, I can hold onto them until I release it from my mind.

Sadly, most of it is related to cosplay, which is why I think I'd like to take a break from cosplay and just clear plans, whether at an event or at a shoot. Those I don't plan to have a shoot for, since, friends who initially dragged me in seemed to have lost interest, and other reasons, I'll just debut the cosplay at events I can attend, end of story.

Of course I have cosplays which I plan to do no matter what. I'll do it at my own pace, make sure everything is durable enough, and hopefully debut it before I turn 30. No more petty cosplay dramas between friends and causing rifts as a result - I'm tired of that.

I suppose that's why having Exile Tribe in my life is a refreshing breeze. It's amazing, having something you enjoy and look forward to while you slave away at work. I cannot stress how much I appreciate Exile Tribe for entering my life during my darkest days, especially Sandaime J Soul Brothers. Their music helped me, their shenanigans made me laugh. It's a fandom I'm glad I'm in, and I have no regrets throwing money at them, with the hopes of meeting them in person, with the hopes of seeing them perform overseas one day.

Now I'm waiting for Amazing World balloting results to be out this weekend. Praying very hard now. *crosses fingers*

But first, my foot must heal.

My foot's healing. It better be. I've placed lots of willpower (and avoiding food I can't eat) to make sure the bone heals, because I am determined to attend Amazing World Exile Tour.

Probably bullshitting, but hey, I believe that if you want it hard enough (this includes working hard towards making it happen), it'll happen. Effort and luck will pay off.

It's boring at home. I've written 4 NaoNao combi fics because I was clearing my WIPs.

And yes, I'm back at work despite the hospitalisation leave. Of course I won't come in everyday - my arms will hurt. It's tiring to move around on crutches. Either your hands hurt or your armpits hurt, because of the crutches digging into your hands/armpits.

They want to see Naoto's helpless/trapped face.

This week's Exile Casino JP was Naoto's Russian Roulette challenge. He had to prevent himself from picking the hidden nail among all the 10 brown bags. If he fails, he'd have pierced his hand, so he cannot fail.

I really don't get why they'll do dangerous things. I for one would have been fucking pissed if Naoto had failed and injured his hand.

My respect for Naoto has just shot through the roof, not that I don't respect him in the first place. But the way he reacted in the face of unknown danger (scaring the other members was an added bonus. Loving your do-S side, Naoto), I just think, yeah, this man is worthy of my respect. Let's just say, not many can earn my respect that easily.

And this is why I sincerely think picking Naoto and Naoki as leaders of 3JSB is one of the best decisions ever. Good job Hiro. You've nurtured two excellent people.

If you think Naoki isn't much, please watch the older Exile variety shows and read his interviews. His love for Exile is greater than any fan's, he genuinely cares for his fellow members, he's one of the first few to react under threat (see Perfect Year 2014 with Mechaike), he tries to break up conflict, he tried to connect to the main Exile group when 2JSB merged into Exile, he wanted a goddamn trip to Mount Fuji's best resort with all the Exile members (Tokyo Friend Park), he didn't earn the okaasan title from 3JSB for nothing.

Most importantly, he balances out Naoto. The yin and yang. They need each other. I've mentioned this so many times, they are so dependent on each other, it's pretty much soulmate level. Yeah, OmiRyu is cute, their voices balance out each other, they harmonise really well, but NaoNao combi runs deeper than what you see.

I didn't go gaga over my OTP NaoNao combi just because I find them cute =.= FYI, my OTPs aren't just limited to all the romance and NSFW between them - I ship them as bros, comrades, soulmates, rivals, lovers, close friends.

For two weeks, I'm on house arrest of sorts because I fractured my left foot on Thursday night. My foot slipped into a knee-high drain and I fell forward. I was surprised I didn't sprain my ankle, but what the heck I fractured a bone. That's worse.

And now I'm idly surfing the net for craft ideas and watching videos and doing work from home. I plan to recover so that I can go to Amazing World Exile Tour in December.

I've not cared for whether others like the same things I do for a long time - just having them in the same fandom is already a blessing because it's more fun to fangirl together, all the jargon, all the memes, sharing the stupid things and "HOLY SHIT I'M SLAYED" things. Within the fandom, we will have different favourite characters too, why fight? We have different OTPs, different favourites, different dislikes, and that's perfectly fine. We're all in the same ship, staying in different cabins.

I'm on social media platforms to follow my fandoms and artists, be updated with the news and info, not to gain popularity. To be popular, you have to also deal with the haters. I wasn't disappointed. The composition for this ballad is beautiful.

This is why song titles and lyrics are as important as the song composition. Granted, I like song composition more, but it's really the whole package. One can't do without the other.

This used to be my stage of flitting between songs with no particular favourite artist. I like a song, I listen to it. If I listen to more songs from the same artist and like them too, then naturally I will end up supporting the artist. I've slowed down because I don't have enough space for all my music (including the CDs I buy)

(Though the lyrics for Tsuki is begging me to come up with a fic, and I'm telling my brain to shut up because there's work to do, I need to brush up my creative writing skills, and read to increase my vocabulary. I seem to have thrown them all back to my teachers once I entered university, because my major didn't require extensive flowing language. Pity.)

Matsu, Makidai and Usa

Matsu, Makidai and Usa will be retiring from EXILE performances at the end of this year. They'll be leaving the group just like Hiro.

I am legit sad. Atsushi's the only one left from the first generation of EXILE. I know they will still be in LDH, doing their own projects - Matsu with his own Gekidan EXILE project, Makidai doing deejaying and PKCZ, Usa and his Dance Earth - but it's still sad because you won't see them perform in EXILE anymore. They've been involved since 1999, so pretty much they are also the core of Exile.

I have decided, I will catch Exile 19 - Road to Amazing World live tour 2015. By hook or by crook. I will save the money to fly there and watch, with Sakia, Retsuya and Kei. We've all made up our minds. Our first Exile concert, and the last we'll see of Makidai, Matsu and Usa performing on stage.

In person.

It will be a poignant moment for us. I will continue to support them in their new endeavours, but Exile won't be the same. Exile will continue to evolve, and add new members who will bring new styles, while keeping the spirit of Exile alive.

Let's hope we can secure a December trip. This news has pretty much decided my year-end holiday plans for me. One day, I will go New Zealand and Europe. But this year, I will definitely watch my first Exile concert.

Which means, I will also fight to watch 3JSB and Gene concerts before my dear performers retire too. Especially 3JSB - Naoto and Naoki are already 32 and 31 respectively.

Thank goodness for my bucket list - to catch Exile Tribe concerts before I hit 30. Exile, 3JSB, Gene, and especially Tower of Wish. I must catch Tower of Wish 2016 if it comes.

Time to plan a trip and make those shirts and fan boards.

We regret to inform all of the GENERATIONS fans that the GENERATIONS shows on June 16th at the Echoplex in Los Angeles and the June 19th show at the Santos Party House in New York were cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances where any and all visa issuance for travel to the United States were temporarily suspended.

We have been working night and day to overcome this problem but were unsuccessful due to it being on a scale that affected the entire immigration system. The members of GENERATIONS are truly heartbroken over this result and we apologize sincerely for this difficult decision. We would like to thank you all once again for your continuous support of GENERATIONS.

Information regarding ticket refunds will be announced through the ticketing websites from which you purchased your tickets.

I love it.

Naruto stage play was really awesome.

Moreover I was sitting front row with my friends, where I could see the expressions clearly and all. Great job with the choreography.

This marks my 2nd 2.5D stage play, after Ao no Exorcist musical. I'm not experienced enough, but I believe audiences from different countries behave differently. In Singapore, we tend to scream at our favourite characters appearing on stage.

My favourite is Neji, but they don't have Team Gai. So, I just settled for screaming at Kimisawa Yuki, who played Kakashi. He's really handsome and he fits Kakashi so well.

Jiraiya was hilarious. He sprouted OH MY GOD and random English phrases when Naruto did his Oiroke no Jutsu. Couldn't stop laughing. Everyone clapped their hands at his introduction, and he made the gesture to increase the volume of our clapping. Of course we added in our cheers ala Singaporean-fashion coz we are that enthusiastic. Hahahahaha stupid Ero-sennin XD

And dear Naruto's actor Kodai-kun owns a 24 Karats jacket. *stares at Sakia's booklet*

But oh, I love the Ino-Shika-Chou battle. They engaged the audience by throwing a huge Chouji ball and it wasn't as heavy as I thought. I'm sorry I didn't push it backwards because I couldn't change the direction of its spin - I'd have to stand up. Shikamaru was so in-character to the end - he yawned when everyone was thanking the audience and all. Ino elbowed him XD

I'm sure everyone fell in love with Orochimaru's actress. Otokoyaku from Takarazuka, acknowledged by Gackt and all. I think I'm just impressed by her singing vocals and acting - such vibrato - but otherwise I'm not into Takarazuka. (Orochimaru is male, but his seiyuu was female. So was the actor, haha)

I should really slap myself for thinking SasuNaru every time their moments are shown, but what the heck. Bros.

【Story】

1-tike, I am stalking you. All the last minute sales isn't good for our poor heart. Plus payment is by credit card. Now I'm just tempted to book tickets and lodging now and fly there from Wednesday to the next, and hope I can buy the tickets one week before the show. Otherwise it's just a change in the itinerary without the concert, that's all.

It's in freaking Seibu Prince Dome. Also I plan to apply for leave at least one month before so that nothing can touch me.

It's all about planning.

And yeah, I know now that my holidays are usually in June, September or December. Pick one. If not, I'll fly to New York to find EXPG haha.

I had been comforting myself with the thought that I had seen them perform in person at A-Nation SG last year. Let's just say, the experience left an extremely deep impact. I've been hungering for a chance to watch them live. It's that crazy.





Ooo so Matsu once formed a mini practice dance team with Keiji, Tecchan and Naoto. I see.

On a side note, I'm still waiting for my appraisal to be confirmed first, then I will buy the DVDs I want from Amazon.jp, and get an account on ex-m to increase my chances of ticket balloting and to read more blog entries.

I also want to get Gekkan Exile July issue because of the 3JSB cover. OTL And the delicious photos inside.
