Niidaime J Soul Brothers was formed in 2006.
Sandaime J Soul Brothers in 2010 after they selected the vocalists from PBA2.

I'M BEING SERIOUS. THEY DEPEND ON EACH OTHER TO CO-LEAD 3JSB. IF ANYTHING, I REALLY RESPECT THEM FOR HELPING 3JSB ACHIEVE WHAT THEY DESERVE.
EXILE FAMILY IS GREAT.
This can apply to OmiRyu as well. They're really close, sticking together since PBA2 in 2010 coz they're the closest in age. And Takahiro/Atsushi goes even further back. Takahiro really idolises Atsushi haha. So cute. He's also done a good job leading Exile Tribe in Perfect Year 2014. Otsukaresama deshita, Takahiro-san!
All the random headcanons I get aren't real. I know what is reality and what isn't. I ship them like burning, but it doesn't mean I insist they MUST be married. That exists in fanfiction, if there are any that I can find....
Sheesh.
On a side note, I prefer Takahiro/Shokichi. Both idolise Atsushi too.

今年1発目の新曲。曲調も新しいトレンドを取り入れているので、ダンスパフォーマンスにも新しさを取り入れるべく、振りやMVの構成では、さまざまな工夫を凝らしました。曲を初めて聴いたとき、スタンドマイクを使った画がふっと思い浮かび、瞬時に振りが思いついたんです。7人でのパフォーマンスシーンでは、『R.Y.U.S.E.I.』とはまた一味違った、本格的なダンスを取り入れているので、昨年よりも確実に進化した僕らの幕開けを感じさせる作品になったと思います。楽曲からもMVからも、また新しい三代目J Soul Brothersを感じていただけるという自信がありますし、ライヴでのパフォーマンスも、今までにはない僕らをお見せできるステージになると思うので、ぜひこのMVを観て「どんなステージになるんだろう」とワクワクしていただきたいです。

“春夏秋冬シリーズ”の夏を担った楽曲です。EDM調のブチ上げソング。この楽曲で昨年末の『第56回日本レコード大賞』にて大賞を受賞させていただき、より多くの方々に三代目J Soul Brothersを知っていただけるキッカケになった、僕らにとっての代表曲。MVも、初めて海外で撮影したり、“ランニングマン”のパフォーマンスも、いろいろな世代の方に受け入れていただくことができ、さまざまなことがベストタイミングで重なって、さらにたくさんの方々が愛してくださったことで、この楽曲が大きく育ったのだと思います。本当に感謝しています。ずっと大切にしていきたい楽曲なので、よりたくさんの方に知っていただき、好きになってもらえるよう、これからもライヴやイベントなどでパフォーマンスしていきたいと思っています。

“春夏秋冬シリーズ”の春をテーマにした楽曲。桜からは、バラードを連想する方が多いと思うんですが、「桜吹雪のように舞い散るイメージで、三代目J Soul Brothersっぽい攻めのサウンドで作るのがいいんじゃないか」というHIROさんのアイデアから、この楽曲が誕生しました。桜は、僕らがいる日本を象徴するような花だと思うので、“ジャパニーズ ソウル ブラザーズ＝J Soul Brothers”というアーティスト名をいただいた僕たちだからこそ、日本特有の美や魂のようなものを、あえて疾走感のある攻撃的なサウンドに乗せて表現しています。MVでも、そういうコンセプトのもと、刀を持ったり殺陣に挑戦したりと、ネオサムライのようなイメージで撮影し、メンバーも大興奮でした。この楽曲やMVをとおして、日本人のサムライ魂のようなものを感じられたような気がしています。すごく攻撃的なんだけれど、桜が散るときに見られる、美しくもあり、どこか儚い曲。MVにも、そういう美しい儚さが描かれています。僕たちのなかでも、特別な楽曲になりました。

“春夏秋冬シリーズ”の秋シングル『C.O.S.M.O.S.～秋桜～』のカップリングに収録されたこの曲は、三代目J Soul Brothersメンバーの夢へ向けた姿勢や、等身大の想いが表現された力強い楽曲になっています。ヴォーカルの登坂広臣が出演した、エースコックさんの『スーパーカップ』のCMソングにも起用していただきました。パフォーマンス映えしそうなこの曲調は、新しいアプローチのビートソングで、ライヴでパフォーマンスするのがとても楽しみです。そして、この曲にラップで参加してくれたのは、EXILE SHOKICHIです。シンガーではなくラッパーとしてEXILE SHOKICHIが僕らの楽曲に参加してくれたことで、また新しいエンタテインメントの形が生まれたと思います。ともに、夢に向かう熱い気持ちをリリックに込め、最高のラップを作り上げてくれました。そんな熱い気持ちに応えるような、ヴォーカルふたりの力強い歌声も必聴の一曲です。

“春夏秋冬シリーズ”の秋をテーマにした楽曲です。このシリーズのなかでは、唯一のミディアムバラード。実は、秋にリリースするミディアムバラードは、自分たちにとってすごく想い入れが強いんです。デビュー曲である『Best Friend's Girl』も、秋にリリースしたミディアムバラードでした。当時から、ミディアムバラードで三代目らしくタイトにパフォーマンスすることが、僕らのひとつのブレない基盤になっています。デビューから4年が経ち、メンバー全員が原点回帰という想いでこの『C.O.S.M.O.S. 〜秋桜〜』に挑んだように思います。『Best Friend's Girl』から、メンバーひとりひとりが成長した姿を、この『C.O.S.M.O.S. 〜秋桜〜』をとおして自分たち自身も感じることができるので、ファンの方々にも感じていただけたらうれしいですね。MVは、すごく美しい世界観と鮮やかな色彩で作り出された、映像美が印象的な作品。ひとりひとり、ソロのイメージシーンもあるので、メンバーそれぞれの内に秘めたセクシーな表現や感情的な表現をご覧いただけると思います。

僕の初めてのソロ楽曲で、男女の恋愛観を表現しています。ソロ楽曲の制作が決まった際、たくさんのデモ曲を聴いたんですが、この楽曲のデモを聴いたときにだけ、なぜかいきなりフッと世界観や歌詞が浮かんできたんです。まさに、楽曲との出合いを感じた瞬間でした。そこから、初めてこの楽曲のデモを聴いたときのイメージを思い出しながら、そのイメージに沿って時間をかけて作詞していきました。歌詞を書く際も、丁寧に慎重に言葉選びを行っていきました。恋愛が持つ儚さやせつなさを描いているのですが、エモーショナルな言葉をメロディーに乗せることによって、人間の感情的な部分を表現しています。皆さんの恋愛におけるストーリーと照らし合わせながら聴いていただいてもいいですし、とにかく思いっきりこの曲の持つ世界観に浸って聴いていただきたいですね。

この楽曲は、三代目J Soul Brothersにとって初のウェディングソング。「いつか、ウェディングソングを歌いたい」という想いがずっと心のなかにあったので、その想いがこうして形になり、うれしい気持ちでいっぱいです。昨年の『THE SURVIVAL』公演で披露させていただいたり、『EXILE TRIBE TOUR』では、ご結婚されているファンの方々にステージに上がっていただき、パフォーマンスさせていただいたんですが、そういう経緯もあって、この楽曲がたくさんの方に愛していただけるような曲になったのかなという気持ちがあります。この楽曲をもっとたくさんの方に聴いていただきたいので、今年も歌っていきたいと思っています。新郎新婦の方に、僕らからのお祝いの気持ちと、幸せを届けられるよう心を込めて制作したウェディングソングなので、結婚式や披露宴などで流していただくことが、僕らのいちばんの理想ですね。

この楽曲は、“春夏秋冬シリーズ”の夏シングル『R.Y.U.S.E.I.』のカップリングに収録されました。『Summer Dreams Come True』というタイトルにもあるように、まさに夏にピッタリの、とてもさわやかな世界観を持ったキャッチーな楽曲になっています。岩田剛典、今市隆二、登坂広臣の3人が出演させていただいた、Samantha Tiara & Samantha ThavasaさんのCMソングとしても起用していただきました。デート中のカップルの男性側の気持ちを歌い上げたような、若さあふれる恋愛ソングになっていて、三代目J Soul Brothersの持つキラキラとしたさわやかな側面を映し出してくれているような楽曲だと思います。ライヴでは、会場の皆さんと手を振りながら一体になれるような曲調でもありますし、個人的にも大好きな楽曲です。

1. Favourite EXILE Tribe member
Gun-chan - He's adorable, he's handsome, he has a nice smile, he's intelligent. More importantly, he's really good at the things he do. I can see the amount of effort he puts in, because he's the youngest member of 3JSB and he respects his senpai a lot. Gun-chan's more than just a pretty face.
Naoto - Adorkable papa of 3JSB. Really good at posing, damn it.
Naoki - He's really cool and collected now, compared to last time. Papa and Mama MUST go together. I can't separate them. Buy one get one free.
Omi - I feel he's the closest in terms of personality? Very reserved person. Also, he expresses his emotions when he sings, which is very similar to my style when I play the piano...
Ryota - Almost the same reasons as Gun-chan. He's really smart and knows how to talk, though he can be quite evil at times. His smile though, so cute. He can play the piano (yes I like pianists). Also his English pronounciation is better than most in Exile.
Reo - He's really cool and adorable and do-S. I like how the senpai called him super naughty and rude when he was younger, until he got scolded by Naoki. It shows how much he has changed. Also he works hard at dancing because he really loves dancing. The amount of effort he puts in is admirable. Ganbare Reo!

Reo you've grown so much

Alright, so this was a new mission of sorts. One pair has to break up and form a new partnership with another. Rearranging the pairs.
So the Naobros refused to break up. Naoki was all No I just rescued my partner we're not breaking up. And Naoto was going I'm not betraying Naoki.
I CANNOT.
NAOKI. NAOTO. STAHP MAKING ME SHIP YOU TWO MORE THAN I SHOULD.
I wonder what Naoki did with the money. It's a lot, yanno. Poor Naoto. He was so quiet ever since Naoki broke up the pairing to pair up with green dude because he got caught, and because the white lady didn't manage to form a new partnership. The winning money is shared between the pair. I'm sure, if Naoto didn't get caught right after he was released, he and Naoki would be sharing the money. If Naoki doesn't get caught that is.
He did get caught. By two Hunters. Same as Naoto.
Which makes me wonder what Naoki did with the money. Well, maybe he saved it, maybe he shared it with Naoto, maybe he treated his teammates, I don't know. I'm a little apprehensive to find out, if the internet said anything at all.

Of course we won't go into the x-rating, and frankly speaking I'd rather not read any R-rated fanfics or doujins regarding EXILE or LDH. For some reason the image can be, quite disturbing. I guess I respect them that much. It's not saying I don't respect other artists who I probably ship; perhaps a better way to rephrase would be, for those I really, really like, I wouldn't want to read R-rated fanfics/doujins about them. Best to keep it to a T. I like subtle anyway.
Some are just so shippable, it just works, yanno, it's not hard to grin at the fanfics written about them. I read RPF

New horizon
I didn't pay much attention to New Horizon. It's the first EXILE song after the 5 new members joined EXILE, to carry on the will of EXILE TRIBE. It's nice, very EXILE. And I managed to pinpoint the four performers' groups (just like Revolution).
Akira, Naoki, Gun-chan, Mendy -- I know them only as the krumpers. That's why Reo was inside this group in Revolution.
Matsu, Kenchi, Naoto, Alan -- popping and locking???
Usa, Tecchan, Nesmith, Sekai -- sleek moves. Tecchan can krump too if I remember correctly, from his RagPound days.
Makidai, Shokichi, Keiji, Taiki -- er. Breakers?
I was rewatching the Shunkan Exile episode where they brought in the five new EXILE members, where Gun-chan got his catchphrase (Nagoya no Perfect Boy. Damn you Mendy.), where they showed parts of PBA4. I thought it was cute that they introduced Kazuki first - he's the latest member of Doberman Infinity after VBA4 hahahaha.
I like how Hiro comforted the rest of the PBA4 finalists who didn't join EXILE, by telling Yuta, Hayato and Reo to carry EXILE pride through Generations and all, and the others to do the same through Rampage. After all they are part of Exile Tribe. The senpai-kouhai hierarchy in EXILE is very strong. I'm really happy Gun-chan joined EXILE, especially because he was the oldest participant in PBA4 at 25. Gun-chan is quite respectful of his senpai even in 3JSB. He's very respectful of this senpai-kouhai hierarchy. I remember one variety show episode where Gun-chan was asked: If he and another EXILE member fell for the same girl, what would he do?
Gun-chan's reply: If he was a senpai, I'll let him have her. But if he was a kouhai, I'll fight for her.

Kenjirou was an instructor at EXPG. Gun-chan was still a university student. I've a weakness for artists who are university graduates. Or are pretty intelligent.

I didn't have a good impression when I first heard the song. More like, I had this "Hmm the quality sucks, I need a better recording. But this is something new. Interesting." thought. (Do you count this as good?) But I had hoped. I hoped the MV could show me something.
I wasn't disappointed AT ALL. SMOULDERING EXPRESSIONS ENOUGH TO SET PANTIES ON FIRE. FEDORAS, MIC STANDS. EVEN A FREAKING GRAND PIANO IN THE BACKGROUND. (why is it red??)
NAOTO'S EXPRESSION AND HIS SLEEK MOVES. I CAN'T GET OVER HIS POPPING AND LOCKING. HE AND ELLY FIT THIS SONG SO WELL.
GUN-CHAN. EXPRESSION. HIS KRUMPING SOLO, TAILORED TO FIT THE SONG. GUN-CHAN I'M LIKING YOU MORE AND MORE. (He's already my favourite 3JSB member.)
NAOKI. HIS LONG AND LEAN BODY IN THAT FITTING OUTFIT. REALLY SEXY. I wish I could see more of his dance solos. This song isn't even the complete version dammit. Mama, stop making Papa jealous. Look at him trying to seduce you back while you fraternise with the lady... //bricked (That part was very nicely angled though.)

OF COURSE, OMI AND RYUJI'S SINGING. They managed to portray the mood of the song through their singing this time. It is a different genre from their usual songs, and I found it refreshing. (Damn the preview.) They call it R&B? More like contemporary R&B.
WHY ISN'T THIS THE FULL VERSION.
Anyone who says dancers aren't important should get out of my life. EXILE prides on their quality of singing AND dancing. They don't prioritise one over the other unlike most groups I see, hence their songs tend to be fun to dance to, or at least groove along. It's also good that looks aren't as important. You love what you're doing, you show the world you enjoy what you're doing. You don't have to pretend.

Welcome to the new chapter of my life
This year, to me, is very exciting. I attribute it to both my new job and personal life.
I'm attending training sessions for something pretty new. Right now I'm researching to familiarise myself with the concepts and what's going on. Then I might get to attend a conference in late January.
I'm attending music concerts. Lantis Festival on 28 March, and a possible Gene concert. PLEASE COME HERE.
I'm making my own costumes and props this year. It's my first time and I aim to do an excellent job, not for attention but for self-satisfaction. Pride in one's work.
I've no idea where to holiday yet, but if possible I would like to go beyond Japan this year. And then should anyone offer me EXILE TRIBE concert tickets, I would love to go for a few days.
But first, I need to brush up my Japanese. I want to be able to read the kanji on tribe-m, twitter, instagram, their official Facebook. Not because of anime or games, because of Japanese artists. Such motivation, much anticipation.
Maybe, just maybe, if I can free up my time, I would like to continue my piano lessons. Take LTCL.

Ryuto and Ryota didn't get selected for Sandaime J Soul Brothers, but because Hiro likes their singing that's why he decided to form Generations. Oh so Yuta was the latest addition haha. So envious of them being part of EXPG, but heck now I'm interested in knowing Reo's dance background. I wonder how he knew so many of the EXILE TRIBE members (Kenchi, Akira, Tecchan, Naoki, Gun-chan, Naoto) since young. 9 years old and dancing with Akira, Tecchan and Naoki in Ragpound?

THIS SONG IS LOVELY. Won't beat my love for Love You More (THAT SONG, PLUS HOT SHOT, ARE SPECIAL), but it's hands down my second favourite. I like it more than Always With You and Into You. That's saying something. But Story is definitely going to be part of my dear representative playlist.

I've paid the amount stated. Let the cheque go through on Monday, and good riddance to you, bitch. I could have said something nasty, but heck, come to think of it, they aren't worth my time and energy. That's why I was so calm. That's why I didn't raise a big hoo-ha.
Now for the next stage of my plan. This will take time but heck, I'll make sure they are part of the diseased bodies I'll build my future on.
After all, nothing like dying slowly to make you understand what you've done is your own doing. Feel free to curse the world, but hell, no one is sympathetic towards your plight.
Whether I'll follow through is another matter. Only time will tell.

If there's one thing I'm good at, I'm a survivor.
I learnt things from my new bosses, and I agree that there are always piles of dead bodies behind successful people. Toku taught me that. Anime and books taught me that. To survive, you must make sacrifices. Well I don't believe in sacrificing close friends in order to survive and succeed, because I don't treat friendship lightly. But people who have done wrong and still think they're justified and right, I'll crush you. I'll crush people who only think for themselves. Selfish bastards.
With great power comes great responsibility. I suppose I'll learn that in time, possibly experience it for myself, but the INTJ in me is prepared.
I'm young. I'm still learning. I'm prepared to take whatever comes at me, and I'm prepared to fight back if necessary. But at the core, I'm still the same me. The cool person with varied fandoms. The musician who loves music.

What is, is. Unless I can change it.
So it has boiled down to insults on their side and court threats. I showed my friends the email reply.
They were livid.
Surprisingly I was very calm. I am still very calm now. Because I already am prepared to pay. As I've mentioned the first time since my resignation, money can be earned back. But the insults used in that email reply to bully me into paying up, I'm showing everyone that.
I lose money. Them, probably their reputation as a company. *shrugs* I don't care. I'm no longer part of it. They want to play dirty, go ahead. They want to ridicule me, go ahead. I've nothing to lose except my money and all the time wasted in there. I can move on, earn it back slowly, enjoy my life.
I'm no spiritual person, but I know money has always been secondary to me. Not because I care about the spiritual aspects of life, all the zen bullshit, but I've always held this belief that life is more than just money. If I had only cared about money, I wouldn't even be stuck in that pathetic ex-company. I wouldn't even have taken the job in the first place.
Perhaps I was naive and stupid. If there are things I learnt, my tolerance has increased tenfold, the number of fucks I give have decreased, I know that with my skills I can go further than a company with no prospects, who rely on nefarious schemes to siphon money off others. Who resorted to threats to get ex-employees to pay up when they dragged things on their side. Sometimes I wish I hadn't even bothered to ask them about the compensation, then I didn't have to pay, and I'd not even ask about claims. The people around me wanted me to try seeking legal help, the enforcer told me what to do.
Because I need a definite form of closure. No one else back then had to do that. Yet never once had I uttered, "Why me?" No, I've learnt that things will not always turn out the way I want, and then I try different ways to mitigate the issues.
I lose money. Money can be earned back. Now let me see if I can give them a bad reputation in return. After all, they lose more than money - they lose the trust. They will never blame themselves. Funny how they consider themselves Christians, seeing how they think money makes the world go round.
Again, no fucks given.

New Year 2015
New year's Eve was spent watching 65th NHK Kouhaku. White team won by a landslide. I only cared for 3JSB and Exile. In fact, CDTV had more Exile Tribe (Countdown with Exile Tribe ahahahaha).
Firstly, congratulations to Sandaime J Soul Brothers from Exile Tribe for winning the Japan Record Award for the song Ryusei. (http://en.ex-m.jp/qnewsbox?news_id=9093) They deserve it. Ryusei isn't just a fun song; it lifted my spirits during my bad days, the desire to shuffle my way out of the bad things in my life. To me, Exile Tribe songs are mind-readers and mood-changers. The songs, the song titles, they seem to reflect what I'm thinking, what I need, or echo my thoughts. Feel free to say I'm bullshitting, it won't change my opinion.
Hiro and Atsushi were so proud of 3JSB. Almost all of them looked like they were crying tears of joy. When they performed Ryusei again, only Naoki and Kenjirou didn't look any different. (Omi and Ryuji went slightly off tune. That's an indication they were trying not to cry.) Atsushi won Best Vocalist for the album Love Ballade. Yeah, he looked so proud of his kouhai; we could see his lip quivering even though his sunglasses hid his eyes.
Makes you want to hug all of them to congratulate them and boys, really, please stop crying. Oh Naoto. Elly you too.
Times like this is where I'm glad I'm an INTJ. I can't deal with emotion that well and I PISS people off because I don't do emotion well. Not because I'm self-centered and have no tact, because I see the practical side of things more. It's amazing how as a musician, I'm the emotional type rather than the technical type. All the suppressed emotion must be unleashed through music haha.
Secondly, I made a promise to myself. Every year, I make a vow to move on, not to dwell in the past. To accept things along the way, and make changes whenever I can. My life isn't set in stone. Anything can happen. After a shitty 2014 (Exile only made things slightly better), I vow to myself, no more. I lose a lot, but I will gain more. I lose money, but money can be earned back. It isn't even the least of my problems.
Thirdly, no more tears. No more discontent. No more trivial complaints. The less number of fucks I give, the better. Until the day I can safely declare, NO OF FUCKS GIVEN = 0
I should get that printed on a shirt.
