TPG in SG again!

Last night, I had the pleasure to attend The Piano Guys concert in Singapore again. Since their last performance in 2013, they've been arranging great music with a blend of classical and pop.

I'm sorry to the people around me who had to put up with my coughing fits.

They played Beethoven's Five Secrets again. And Rockabel's Canon. And Don't Worry Be Psycho. And new songs such as Let It Go, Kung Fu Piano, even Pictures at an Exhibition recreated with that oriental feel.

There were minor slip ups, because Star Theatre has a good sound system, you can pick them easily ^^; Still, the repertoire was perfect. The comedy was perfect. You'll never get tired of them.

Please come back here again.


(If anything, I thought Star Theatre has better acoustics than MBS Theatre even though it is further. At least, to hold concerts even for pop and rock. Lantis Festival was fantastic. But if Gene comes here, I'll go to wherever they perform at. TREAT THEM WELL, DAMN ORGANISERS, OR ELSE.)

I got to agree. EXILE isn't known for their looks. Please, they're rugged and look more like yankees than the pretty boys you know. Now, their recent image is good and can be featured on magazine covers, but really, if you are there for the pretty face then too bad, EXILE isn't for you. The oldest is 47, the youngest is 19 (I'm discounting Rampage). Your pretty faces would probably be in 3JSB and Generations from Exile Tribe.

I'm a recent fan, but I've gone back in time and watched their old videos. I have complained about their hairstyles, but never have I complained about them being talentless. They improve over the years, and that's good.

I still have more to catch up on. I've 5 years of backlog and counting.

I saw some LJ posts about celebrities being rude and all that when fans call them out for dating others. While I think some could rephrase their words better, I believe celebrities are still human and really, fans, your sense of entitlement is baffling. They have their own lives, seriously, leave them alone. You want to call them your husbando/waifu, that's your problem, but it doesn't mean you have the right to stop them from dating other people.

Here's the thing. When you are famous, you have an image to uphold. What you say on screen will be recorded in social media. I really think being polite helps, because you can see there are people who will support you for trying to stand up to unruly fans without being rude and tarnishing your reputation.

Save your rudeness and bitchiness for close gatherings with friends. Where no one is there to pick up on your complaints.

Quilling

I just saw some lovely quilling artwork and now I've an idea what to make for Gene (and 3JSB, if I ever get the chance to go Blue Planet). You know fans are allowed to give them gifts before a concert and all? Yep, I think I know what I want to make for them now.

It'll keep me busy at home after I finish all my props and costumes.

It's been some time since I quilled. Then again, when I was younger, I didn't have the equipment so I cut and curled the pieces myself. Naturally they were crude and unsightly haha.

Get the tickets first then make the artwork.

Another dream with Gene

I had another dream with Gene.

I invited them to my grandma's house one day after their concert (which, for some reason, was a lovely condominium with large rooms). I had to disappear somewhere for a while, so I told them to make themselves feel at home.

When I came back I couldn't find them afterwards, but realised their shoes were still around (some were wearing Tecchan's yellow dunks. Rather easy to recognise), then heard some voices and looked out the window because it wasn't very high up. Lo and behold all the Gene members were there interacting with my relatives (lots of gestures and broken English when I went down) and hanging around the BBQ pit.

Yeah. We had a BBQ. Nothing too spicy for their tastebuds.

Still.

Hot Road

I finally watched Hot Road. It was a great movie, not my usual style, but great nonetheless. The storyline was well-paced and Omi, my goodness, Omi was fantastic.

Me being the nonchalant and one of those most deserving of smacks fangirl going "Yeah Omi is that yankee attitude because of spending 5 years in Exile Tribe?" "Oh Ryuji is lucky to have Omi as his husbando. Such manriness."

Yep, I must be one of the worse Exile Tribe fans ever XD

I spotted Pudding, Mabe and Jinshan inside as well. Yamada Yuki, Ozawa Ryota, Jinnai Sho. Yes these three. Better yet, Pudding and Mabe are in the same gang which Omi's character Haruyama heads. Pudding plays a more prominent role inside, and Mabe gets several lines as well.

But Omiiiiiiiiii *throws hearts*

He still remains the Exile Tribe member I would marry. If I were asked the question, that is.

Sorry for my way of putting it, but I wonder how you can all be so close when it’s a group of grown up men close to their thirties and whose background, age, personality are all different.
I think we’re very well balanced. Each of us has their own originality, and especially after the “Blue Impact” tour each member has started showing that off more clearly; but when the seven of us gather, there’s a sort of a chemical reaction and that’s when Sandaime J Soul Brothers shine the most. I said we’re more like a family than a group, and each member has his own role just like in a family. The leaders, Naoto-san and (Kobayashi) Naoki-san are our seniors in the group, but they always treat us without formalities, and while of course I have a strong respect for them, I’m able to approach them without formalities as well. That’s the sort of atmosphere Sandaime J Soul Brothers have. I’m saying it so many times, but if I compare the members to family members, Naoto-san is like a father who makes us tow in line when it’s needed, and Naoki-san is like a mother who watches over us with lots of love and talks to us about the little details.

Music anime is good

If I learn this song, it'll be a big project for me haha. It's been some time since I last played a classical piece of my standard. Not to brag, but I have my own pride as a pianist thanks.

Of course I'll kowtow to great pianists and pianists with a solid background. If anyone can play this song well as Kousei, I'll kowtow to you.

I will cosplay Kousei if I can squeeze him into my cosplans (which I'm checking off one by one), and provided I can shoot with a grand piano.

Hibike Euphonium is in my plans because we have interested parties. Who to cosplay, is another issue. The only few I'm interested in are the band conductor and the lead heroine, based on height haha. But see first.

My dream of cosplaying a musician from a music anime at least once in my life will come true 8D
